The Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology of the CNR on 17, 18 and 19 May on the occasion of the international day dedicated to plants organized seminars and educational workshops aimed at high and middle schools.
Young and old alike were enthusiastic about the activities carried out: young people from four high schools in Milan and the interland had the opportunity to listen and debate with researchers about current issues such as desertification, GMOs, environmental sustainability; while the students of the Maria Ausiliatrice middle school of San Donato Milanese turned into little scientists by actively participating in laboratories on DNA extraction, on the thousand uses of hemp and chestnut, to discover genetic mutations of the bean and of the smallest plain in the world, the lemna.
The success of the initiative was at the national level, the Fascination of Plants Day 2022 in fact saw the organization of events throughout the territory that aroused the attention of the television program Striscia la Notizia which dedicated a service inside of the Spazio Ciovani column which you can see at this link.
