The sPATIALS3 project won the SMAU Milan 2020 Innovation Award

The sPATIALS³ project, Improvement of food production and innovative technologies for a healthier, safer and more sustainable diet, has been nominated and won the SMAU Milan 2020 Innovation Award.

The sPATIALS³ project, financed within the Call hub research and innovation of Regione Lombardia, has been presented and promoted in the framework of the SMAU Milan 2020 activities.

This is a major recognition for the project which aims: to achieve improved products for nutritional and functional properties; to provide and implement precision technologies to ensure the safety, traceability and quality of products; to develop eco-friendly and innovative smart and active-packaging to minimize and recover, where possible, waste and increase the shelf life of food; to provide consumers and companies with tools for the usability of the results.

At the live show on Tuesday October 20th “Wellness of the person and health of the citizen: advanced solutions to better manage the living environments in total safety”, led by Antonio Perdichizzi, took part Dr. Francesca Sparvoli of CNR IBBA, scientific director of the project and Ing. Cristina De Capitani, communication manager of the project and Cluster manager of Fondazione Cluster TAV. There was great interest from the audience attending the TV1 study area, where there was the opportunity to present the ongoing project activities, the objectives and the first results obtained.

At the end of the live show, in the press room, SMAU CEO, Dr. Pierantonio Macola, conferred the Innovation Award to Dr. Sparvoli and Engineer De Capitani.
