Activities include improving photosynthetic efficiency, drought tolerance, and water use efficiency in crops; exploiting advanced genetic resources to modulate cuticular and stomatal transpiration; and applying elicitation strategies to stimulate the production of secondary metabolites of nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and industrial interest.<\/p>\n<p>In parallel, microbial biorefinery processes are developed to convert agro-industrial wastes, biogenic CO\u2082, and process wastewaters into bio-based products within circular economy frameworks.
