24 April 2023

The Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology of the National Research Council of Milan with Dr. Pietro Roversi, together with the Department of Medical, Oral and Biotechnological Sciences of the “G. D’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara with Prof. Marco Trerotola, wins the joint tender of Fondazione Cariplo and Fondazione Telethon 2022.

The objective of the joint initiative between Fondazione Cariplo and the Telethon Foundation is to understand genetic aspects and molecular mechanisms that are still largely unknown or poorly understood today, but potentially useful for promoting the development of new therapies for rare diseases.

21 projects selected for a total of around 5 million euros, see the presence of 34 research groups distributed throughout the country.

The project led by Dr. Pietro Roversi of the CNR-IBBA will study the recovery of the secretion of “TDark” mutant glycoproteins, whose folding and subcellular localization are altered in various rare human congenital diseases.
