The Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology

The Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology (CNR-IBBA) belongs to the Department of Biology, Agriculture and Food Sciences (DiSBA) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR).

Active in the fields of genomics, genetics, biochemistry and physiology of organisms of agricultural interest, the IBBA is a research organization whose activities are located in the area of ​​plant and animal biology, agriculture and nutrition.

Mission

The Institute carries out research, technology transfer and training activities with a unique mission: to broaden the scientific knowledge relating to the molecular basis that regulate the functioning of biological systems of agricultural interest in the plant, animal and microbial field, both at the cell and organism level, so as to develop programs aimed at improving the quality and sustainability of agri-food production.
