SAVE THE DATE: 30 SEPTEMBER BRIGHT-NIGHT 2022 AT CNR IN PISA

Also this year the BRIGHT-NIGHT, the European Night of Researchers and Researchers returns: the event conceived by the European Commission with the aim of spreading scientific culture and showing the social impact of research.

In Italy, the event, supported by the Tuscany Region, involves the University of Florence, Pisa and Siena, the University for Foreigners of Siena, the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, the Scuola Normale Superiore, the IMT Alti School. Studi Lucca, the National Research Council (CNR), the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the European Gravitational Observatory (EGO).

This year’s themes are 6 and will touch all fields of science and culture: 1. We support the planet 2. For a sustainable community 3. A better world for everyone 4. Let’s future 5. Research… healthy! 6. Facts were not to live like brutes …: Dante’s legacy in research. Finally after 2 years all the activities will take place in the presence and will be an opportunity to bring citizens closer to the fascinating world of science and get in touch with people who have made their daily mission of scientific research.

The events to be held on 30 September 2022 at the Research Area of ​​the CNR in Pisa are coordinated by Dr. Vincenzo Longo, Head of the Secondary Office of the Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology (IBBA-CNR), with the collaboration of a working group composed of one or more representatives for each Institute present in the Area (for IBBA, Dr. Clara Maria Della Croce). In addition to the events in the Research Area, the CNR also participates in the activities in the city center with the other Institutions.

The IBBA Pisa Headquarters will be involved in the Research Area with the following activities:

Seminar: From chemical to organic agriculture: a new green revolution (Cristiana Sbrana)

Open laboratories:

  • Plants and algae of agricultural and food interest (Carolina Chiellini, Clara Maria Della Croce, Lucia Giorgetti, Cristiana Sbrana, Aymen Souid)
  • FunTomP: Functionalized Tomato Products. From field to table through the enhancement of Mediterranean waste products (Laura Pucci, Morena Gabriele, Elena Tomassi, Andrea Cavallero)
  • Creative recycling (Clara Maria Della Croce and Lucia Giorgetti in collaboration with the WoW-Win on Waste group)

 

Together with the other institutions in Piazza Santa Caterina:

  • Nutraceutical foods (Luisa Pozzo, Teresa Grande, Andrea Vornoli)
